Terms of Use
Using Pylo
Pylo is provided by Aplogon, an independent app developer based in Sri Lanka. It is an SSH client: it connects your phone to servers you add, gives you a terminal on them, lets you browse and move their files over SFTP, makes and stores SSH keys, and forwards ports through them. By using the app you agree to these terms. You must be at least 16 years old to use Pylo.
Your servers and accounts
Use Pylo only with servers and accounts that you own or are allowed to use, and follow the rules of whoever runs them. You are responsible for what you do on your servers through Pylo, for the commands you run and the files you change or delete, and for keeping your passwords, keys and phone safe. Commands run on a server act on that server straight away and often cannot be undone, so take care, and keep backups of anything important.
Pylo checks each server's host key and warns you when it changes; trust a new or changed key only when you know why it is new. Older algorithms, when you turn them on for a host, are weaker; use them only for devices that need them.
What Pylo does not do
Pylo 1.0 does not support Mosh, jump hosts, agent forwarding, X11 or remote (-R) port forwarding, and it does not sync or back up your hosts, keys or passwords between devices: if you lose or reset your phone, they are gone, so keep your own copies of important keys. Android may close a session in the background when it needs memory. The terminal follows the common xterm standard, but some programs may display differently from a desktop terminal.
Free version and Pylo Pro
- Pylo is free to use with ads (see the Privacy Policy). The free version saves up to 5 hosts and 3 snippets and connects to one server at a time (plus the offline demo); it includes the terminal and key bar, SSH keys, host-key checks, App Lock, and SFTP browsing, preview, downloads, sharing and uploads.
- Pylo Pro removes ads and adds unlimited hosts and snippets, up to 8 servers connected at once, port forwarding, renaming, deleting, new folders and permissions over SFTP, and more terminal colour themes.
- Pylo Pro is sold through Google Play as a monthly or yearly subscription, or as Lifetime, a one-time purchase: you pay once and it never renews. Prices, and any free trial, are shown in the app before you buy, and payment is charged to your Google Play account.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in Google Play (Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions); Pro stays on until the end of the period you paid for. If you cancel during a free trial, you are not charged.
- Pro unlocks on any device signed in to the same Google account (use Settings › Restore Purchases); Lifetime does so for as long as Pylo is offered on Google Play.
- If a purchase is refunded or a subscription ends, Pro features switch off. Your hosts, keys and settings are not deleted.
- Refunds are handled under Google Play's refund policies.
The app's content
Pylo's design, texts, offline demo and icon are Aplogon's own work. Pylo uses the Inter typeface under the SIL Open Font License and Roboto Mono under the Apache License 2.0; the licences of the software it uses are listed in Settings › Open-Source Licences.
Liability
Pylo is provided “as is”. We work hard to make it secure and reliable, but we can't guarantee that it works with every server, network or phone, or that a connection never drops. To the extent the law allows, Aplogon is not liable for lost or changed data on your phone or your servers, for anything done with your servers or credentials, or for losses arising from use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms; the effective date above will change when we do. These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka. Contact: apexfordinith@gmail.com.
